Dear Parents/Guardians of the Graduate,

Just a note to share some information with you!  Hopefully it will help to make things go a little smoother during this upcoming graduation for you as a parent/guardian.  Your son or daughter might have given you the “facts” already, but in case they haven’t, here are some things you might find useful in making your graduation plans.

Graduation Practice:  Friday, May 23rd

The Graduation practice will be on Friday, May 23rd  (the day of Graduation) right away in the morning.  This is MANDATORY for all seniors – if they are not at practice, they are not allowed to participate in the ceremony that night.  The schedule for that day is as follows:

8:00-8:30                     Locker check-out

                        8:30-9:00                     Senior Breakfast

9:00-????                     Set-up / practice for the ceremony – we practice until graduates are ready!

After practice               Seniors must leave school (no hanging around in the halls, outside, etc.).  Absolutely no disturbing other students still in class!

Graduation Ceremony:  Friday, May 23rd

1)         Parents/Guardians should be to the cafeteria (multi-purpose room) no later than 7:10pm.

2)         Parents/Guardians will all be taken to be seated together at 7:15pm.  There are only 2 chairs per family in the reserved seating section of the gym, unless an additional 1 or 2 seats are needed for step-parents.  If this is the case, the graduate is responsible for letting me know for set-up purposes!  We cannot allow extra seating for siblings, grandparents, or other extended family in the reserved section.

3)         You are welcome to take pictures during the ceremony if you wish!  PLEASE DON’T BE SHY and regret it later!!  Feel free to get up close to get a good one of your graduate when he/she receives their diploma!

4)         Ceremony should be done by 8:30pm at the latest – reception line in the cafeteria to follow.

5)         Graduation gowns should be returned to the rack in the library before graduates leave!

If you have any further questions regarding the schedule of events for graduation or the ceremony itself, please call me at the school (507.342.7339).  I am not always there or available, but I will return messages as soon as I can!  Or you may call my cell phone (507.828.1638).  Thank you for your help and cooperation throughout the year.  May I take a moment to extend my congratulations to you as the parents/guardians of a graduate and my wishes for a successful, happy and safe celebration of this event in your lives!

Sincerely,
