Junior High Knowledge Bowl

What is Knowledge Bowl?  Knowledge Bowl are interdisciplinary academic contests designed for secondary school students in grades 7-12.  During the contest teams answer written and oral questions relating to all areas of their education. Questions test student's recall, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Students from 7-9 can compete in Junior High competitions, and students from 7-12 can compete in any Senior High competitions. In these competitions teams of students compare answers to fifteen curriculum areas by pressing on pressure sensitive strips when they know the answer. After they "buzz in" they have 15 seconds to discuss their answers before the spokesperson must answer.

This years members include the following students:

Jeremy H-8th grade, Briana J, Scott J, and Josey W are all 7th graders

This is a new team and they will be gaining positive experience at every meet we attend. Our first meet was October 29th and the team placed 21 out of 30. After each round, the team improved by at least 5 points. I believe this team will go far after gaining the experience of participating at meets.

*Students are still encouraged to join the team.

Please call if you have any questions.

Thank you,
