Site Council Minutes

I.                   Additions to Agenda—none

II.               Student Concerns—Abby Carlson discussed the parking lot issues (that were already taken care of), announcements being read or not read, and time to pass between classes.  Everything will be left as it is.

III.           Old Business

A.      Homecoming Review—All comments were positive.  The dance went over well and more dances may be scheduled for the year.  We are looking at December 7th.  The students are also dressing up for the special days.

IV.              New Business

A.      Homeroom—Students are commenting that it seems to be a waste of time.  Some options were discussed:

1.       Leave it as it is.

2.      Have homeroom 2 days a week and change the schedule the other 3 days.

3.      Designate 2 days as homeroom and extend 7th hour the other 3 days.

This issue will be addressed at the secondary meeting and plans will be made for next year.

B.       Principal Duties—Mr. Suss asked for possible help in checking

School Notes to make sure teachers are keeping them updated.  After much discussion, it was decided to be revisited next month.

V.                  Other—Dave Blank reported that the School Store is up and

Running.  An order is going out soon and we are to use this store when selling school clothing to the public.  Jonti-craft has donated a cart for storage.  Abby Rohlik and Brandon Baune are the students in charge.

Another concern was the lack of an AM “greeter”.  It was decided that the elementary students will be ushered into the cafeteria until the bell rings.  Tables will be assigned to each class.  High school students will continue entering in the East door.

Next meeting:  Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007
