Elementary School

 Citizenship Award

The Citizenship Award is awarded to an elementary class each month. Anyone in our school building that notices individuals or whole class behavior that is showing good citizenship for a specific reason is awarded a coupon and the class that receives the most coupons at the end of the month will then get their picture in the paper and host the citizenship trophy for the month.

We are trying to promote positive behavior. Some examples are:

bullet Quiet in the halls
bullet Walking in the building
bullet Using good manners
bullet Helping out someone without being asked
bullet Picking up garbage or litter
bullet Taking care of school property with pride
bullet Using any of the lifeskills especially without being told

It can be anything that is noteworthy of being a good citizen. It may be a way for the classes to have some healthy competition with each other on which class will get the award promoting positive behavior along the way. Hopefully they will work together as a class to achieve this.

The Citizenship Trophy remains in the winning classroom for the month after it is awarded.
